Creating a brand that feels squishy and smart

Role: Senior Designer

Client: Moose Toys
Deliverables: Brand development, packaging structure and design

The Challenge
To build a brand for a toy that didn’t quite fit into any existing category. It had a squishy, tactile feel that kids loved, but also techy features like sound and movement. The goal was to find a way to blend fun and interactivity with a fresh, modern look that felt gender-neutral and bold.

My Role
Leading the brand from concept to shelf, we crafted a look that felt bold, techy, and fun. Developing 3D icons to create visual cues that speak directly to the toy’s electronic features. Using colour blocking  for each assortment, creating strong shelf impact and making the range pop as a collection. Leaning into the 3D world to reflect the techy, playful nature of the product, I worked closely with our in house digital artists to develop realistic character illustrations that interacted with the pack.

Alongside the visual storytelling, I partnered with our packaging engineers to make sure the final design was fully recyclable. Even with our bold approach to materials and finishes, we stayed aligned with our sustainability goals without compromising on shelf presence.

The Outcome
The Zoogooz brand successfully combined tactile play with interactive technology, resulting in a toy that resonated with both children and parents. The innovative use of sustainable, fully recyclable packaging not only aligned with environmental goals but also enhanced the product's shelf appeal. This thoughtful design approach contributed to Zoogooz becoming a standout item in the market, praised for its engaging features and eco-conscious presentation.
